The Lake Simcoe Region Conservation Authority advises that flooding is currently occurring in a number of locations throughout the watershed due to a large amount of rainfall overnight. Approximately 56mm of rain has been recorded at the LSRCA office. The Weather Office is forecasting rainfall to continue through today and lessening over the weekend.
Saturated ground conditions in combination with the rainfall is causing flooding in low lying and flood prone areas.
Watercourses will be flowing higher than normal causing local streams and rivers to become dangerous, especially in the vicinity of culverts and bridges. Children should be warned to stay away from all watercourses
This Flood Watch will be in effect through Sunday June 25, 2017.
