Welcome back!

It is hard to believe that Labour Day weekend is coming to a close already.  The staff have been working the last couple of weeks to welcome back the students for another great year at St. Bernard's.  We are very excited to see everyone tomorrow!

I'd like to welcome all of our new families to the St. Bernard's community.  Please take the time to introduce yourself to the staff.  One of the many benefits of being at a smaller school is that we get to know our families well.  

Just a reminder that parents are welcome in the backyard tomorrow to accompany their child on the first day.  Students are to line up behind the chair marked with their grade.  Teachers will come out and read off their class lists, show students where they will line up for recess and proceed in the school to begin the day.  After tomorrow we ask that students say good-bye to their parents at the gate.  Our Kindergarten students can enter their yard tomorrow at the side of the school as usual.  They will be greeted by their teachers there.   

The construction is coming along nicely.  We have a new set of doors that students will use at the back of the school.  However, they will not be able to walk around to the parking lot from the backyard.  They will need to continue to come around the front of the school until further notice.  Our kiss-n-ride is still operational.  Students will be dropped off and proceed around the front of the school through the side gate.  Please do not try to pull into the bus loop at the front of the school for drop off and pick up.  This is not safe for our students.  Your cooperation is appreciated.  Thanks!  

Here is this week's update.  I've also included some upcoming dates for you to add to your calendar.  I have not yet been able to finalize our Wendy's night.  Hopefully I will hear from our contact soon.  I will keep you posted.
